Excursions

Wednesday 20th July

We are pleased to offer delegates the opportunity to visit the stunning scenery of North Wales on Wednesday afternoon of the conference week. If you're interested in exploring Bangor’s gorgeous surroundings you can choose one of the three possible tour options: Snowdonia, Historic North Wales, and the beaches of Anglesey. Some of these plans are weather-dependent; there will be contingency plans in the event of rain.

Excursions depend on a minimum of 25 delegates per coach. If fewer than 25 are interested, alternative plans will be made.  Pick-up will be at Main Arts car park, at 1.30pm; estimated drop-off time is 6pm outside Main Arts. The basic price to attend one of the excursions is £16, but some of the options, namely castles and historic houses, might involve extra costs that should be dealt with individually if attendants intend to visit them. For more information, including photo galleries of the different places of interest, please click on the external links provided.

So, now all you need to do is decide; do you want to explore the mountains, the castles, or the beautiful beaches of North West Wales? Simply let us know on the registration form.

If you decide to stay at Bangor on the Wednesday afternoon, there's another option for you: As an alternative to the excursions, there will be lectures on Wales and the Welsh offered at Pontio, the University's new Arts and Innovation Centre.
