Travelling to the University
Bangor is easily reached through excellent road and railway networks, with easy connections to London, Manchester, and Liverpool airports. It is situated between the historical cities of Conwy and Caernarfon, with famous castles and many further attractions closeby for social events and conference outings.
By Road
The University has good road connections from the A55 North Wales Expressway. Use postcode LL57 2DG for route planning.
By Rail
Bangor railway station has frequent connections provided by Virgin Trains and Arriva Trains Wales.
By Bus & Coach
Bangor is served by National Express coaches with local bus services provided by Arriva Buses Wales and other local bus companies. TravelineCymru provide details of all bus services.
By Air
Bangor’s closest major airports are Manchester and Liverpool John Lennon; both have good road and rail links. The local Anglesey Airport provides daily flights to Cardiff.
By Sea
The port of Holyhead (about 30 minutes from Bangor by car or train) has ferry services to Ireland provided by Irish Ferries and Stena Line.
